Release Notes, Week 82

Hello, hello, SyncSpiders!

We hope everyone is familiar with the importance of innovation, whatever industry or segment. But we have to notice that sometimes, coincidental innovations make an enormous change.

For example, did you know that no one set out to invent sticky notes? It happened coincidentally, and here we are, using them even 45 years later.

So, here’s how it went.

In 1968, while developing a super-strong adhesive, Dr Spencer Silver, a chemist at 3M Company, invented the opposite. ???? A special, low-tack one. It would stick to things but also could be repositioned multiple times. For years, no one was interested in it, until one day, six years later, his colleague, Art Fry, didn’t have issues with his hymnal bookmarks, which kept falling off while he was singing in the church. ????He remembered Silver’s invention and boom! ✨???? From 1980, when this product went nationwide, the whole world was using canary yellow sticky notes, and it became the most used office product in the world.

And why canary yellow? Well, you might have guessed by now. It was a leftover scrap paper from a nearby laboratory. ????

Yeap, that’s how we get the most valuable inventions ????

And speaking of notes, we have some news for you! ????????????

We are proud to present our latest SyncSpider core update, the Mapping Notes! ???? Yes, that’s right. You don’t have to explain, again and again, every time you have a new team member or search the help center every time you forget something. Now you can use the mapping notes as instructions for mapping. They can be posted on every segment of your mapping journey, and they can be in the form of textual notes, videos or links.

As usual, that’s not all we’ve prepared for you. Besides more SyncSpider core updates, we have new updates for Shopware6, eBay, Shopify, BigCommerce, and CustomXML

Let’s see what they are ????????????

SyncSpider Team

Improved Integrations

Shopware6

Shopware6 users will notice it speeded up. We’ve updated product export speed with refactored logic to optimize performance.

CustomXML

And for CustomXML, we’ve renamed the XML generator display name.

eBay

Those who use eBay will be happy to know that we have updated it to support the new Taxonomy service.

Shopify

For Shopify users, we’ve made some changes in the generation of product cache: cache generation moved to job, and we’ve added cache status retrieval in the frontend.

BigCommerce

For those using BigCommerce, here comes a big relief. We’ve added the BigCommerce Coupons entity for source and destination.

App upgrades and fixes

As for SyncSpider core updates, we’ve fixed the gracefully finish parent execution in sequential import scenario, the concatenated field path set, and added the “trim” as a custom encode option for the custom encode field.

And of course, the star of today’s Release note, we’ve added the Mapping notes.
