Ready to dive into the world of automating your online store but feeling a bit like a fish out of water? Don’t sweat it. Sure, the ocean of integration and automation tools seems vast, but creating your first integration task isn’t as tricky as it looks. Let’s break it down, step by step, and get you sailing smoothly on the SyncSpider ship.

Embarking on Your First Integration Task with SyncSpider

Think of SyncSpider as your trusty first mate in the world of e-commerce automation. Whether it’s about listing products, sorting out orders, or managing shipping, the journey starts with creating your very first task. Here’s how you can hit the ground running:

  1. Getting Ready: First things first, make sure you have at least a couple of apps ready to integrate within SyncSpider. A whole bunch of integrations are available (400+), so we are almost sure the ones you use are on the list.
  2. Launching the Task:
  • Click “Create Your First Task.” A popup will spring up, kind of like your digital treasure map.
  • Choose your integrations – Choose the app (like WooCommerce), then select your second integration (maybe a CSV file for all that important data).
  • After you’ve picked your duo, hit the “Next” button. It’s right there, in the bottom right corner of the popup.
  1. Template Time:
  • SyncSpider will now show you many ready-to-use templates that work with your chosen integrations. Feel free to pick one, or if you’re feeling adventurous, create your own.
  • For the DIY route, click the hyperlink at the bottom left of the popup and follow the breadcrumbs.

Crafting Your Custom Template

Pre-built templates are like ready-made meals – quick and convenient. But sometimes, you just want to cook up something special. In this case, it is to pull specific data you need from one to another integration. Here’s how to whip up your own custom template:

  1. Setting the Integrations: SyncSpider will first ask you whether you want to use the existing integrations or if you would like to install another one. You’ll need to name your first integration, click the Next button, and provide the account (shop) URL, consumer Key, and Consumer Secret. If you don’t know where to find the Consumer Key and the Consumer Secret information, you can check the Help article at the bottom of the popup, “See Instructions”. Once you finish this procedure, click the Finish button, and your integration will be on the list.
  2. Select the Entities: Entities are basically data you wish to transfer (export/import) or automate from one app to another. First, you choose Entity for your Source (the app you’re sending data from) and then the Entity for your Destination app (the app you’re sending data to). The curiosity with the CSV file as Destination, for example, is that you can choose the type of your CSV file (whether it’s local, SPTF, feed, or something else). Once you finish that procedure, just click the Next button.
  3. Source Configuration Time: It’s time to configure your Source and Destination integration. You can set the UID (for products, it can be SKU, name, Product ID, etc.) and what data you want to pull (for example, you can pull all products, only products published after the last task execution, etc.) You can also pull data from a specific time period or after a specific date.
  4. Filter Source Data: You also have the ability to filter Source data by determining which products, for example, you want to import – whether by ID, size, color, etc.
  5. Target Configuration Time: Once you configure your Source integration, you need to configure the Target integration (the one to which you’ll send data). You can, for example, import your existing CSV or configure it manually within SyncSpider. Depending on this step, you will have the mapping options for the next step.
  6. Mapping Screen Magic: After setting up your target integration, picking the data to export, and configurating the Source and the Target integration, you’ll land on the mapping screen. This is where you play matchmaker, lining up fields from your Source (WooCommerce, for example) to your target (like a CSV file).
  7. Line’ Em Up: On one side, you’ve got fields from your Source; on the other, your target fields. Your job is to pair them up correctly. Think of it as setting up a blind date where everyone needs to get along!
  8. Tailoring the Transfer: SyncSpider isn’t just smart; it’s flexible. You can tweak how the data hops from one place to another. Filters, format changes, field mergers – it’s all there for you to play with.
  9. Sneak a Peek and Confirm: Use the preview option to spy on how your data alignment looks. It’s like taking a test drive before buying the car.
  10. Save and Experiment: Got everything looking good? Save it and activate it. It’s always better to be safe than sorry.
  11. Run the task: And finally, the moment of truth – hit the “Play” button, and your task will be up and running!
